Sono un costumista professionista in pensione, ora faccio pupazzi nel mio studio di casa nel West Michigan. Ho amato, giocato e creato pupazzi sin da quando ero bambino ed è meraviglioso avere il tempo ora da dedicare a questo interesse. Mi viene un tale calcio nel guardare i bambini giocare o reagire ai miei burattini!
Uso solo tessuti in fibra naturale come cotone e lana, e tutti i miei pupazzi sono cuciti a macchina e a mano (doppi cuciti nei punti di stress); Non uso mai colla.
Proprio come mentre lavoravo nel campo del costuming, la mia parte preferita della mia nuova attività è il design e la stesura di modelli. Sono anche pazzo di dipingere e tingere i tessuti, in particolare i colori tinti in cravatta e ombre (sfumati o sbiaditi).
I'm a retired professional costume designer, now making puppets in my West Michigan home studio. I have loved, played with and created puppets ever since I was a child and it's wonderful to have the time now to spend on this interest. I get such a kick out of watching children playing with or reacting to my puppets!
I use only natural fiber fabrics such as cotton and wool, and all of my puppets are machine and hand sewn (double stitched at stress points); I never use any glue.
Just like while I was working in the costuming field, my favorite part of my new business is the design and pattern drafting. I am also crazy about painting and dying the fabrics, especially tie dyed and ombre colors (blended or faded).
