Vintage from the 1950s
Gemstone: Ruby

Rubies and Diamonds such a classical combination in these pretty vintage earrings.

The oval cut rubies are a soft pink to red tone and complimented by small old cut diamonds.

The metal used in the cast setting is Palladium. This is an indication that the earrings would have been made around the 1940s to 50s.

*(Palladium was first used in jewellery late 1930's as an alternative to Platinum. It is lighter and a lot rarer than Platinum.)

The earrings were originally fitted with screw backs. We have made them more secure to wear by converting the fittings to 18ct white gold posts and butterflies.

An articulated design of the earrings allows subtle movement of the lower ruby drop. This adds to their vintage charm and sparkle!
