Self Care Lover Turned Crafter
I’ve always been a lover of self care products, but being stuck in the house all of 2020 made me seek them out more. I was also a full time grad student so any down time to pamper myself was welcomed. I indulged in a variety of body scrubs, body butters, and enjoyed every bit of my “me time”. What I didn’t enjoy was watching most of my body scrub get washed down the drain after scooping it from the jar. I also disliked how watery it became after many uses in the shower. On the flip side, I loved how my skin felt from the natural benefits found in body butters and scrubs. As my class workload increased, I found myself using one or the other to be more efficient with my time. I sought out alternatives and discovered the “scrubee” from Lush cosmetics. It had the exfoliating action of body scrubs and the moisturizing components from body butters. What it did lack in my opinion was how quickly it dissolved in the shower. After doing some research, I decided to attempt my own version in December 2020. One that didn’t dissolve as quickly, had the natural skin benefits I adored, and combined exfoliation with the richness of butters. I'm excited to share my handcrafted body butter scrubs with you.
