It's called Everyday Cosplay for a reason
There are lots of different names for everyday cosplay - casual cosplay, closet cosplay, everyday cosplay, Disneybounding or just bounding. Whatever you call it, it's becoming more and more mainstream and I love it!
I'm the sort of person who is always making something. I originally started this Etsy store so I'd have something to do with all the things I was making, but as my creative practice evolved, I found my love of geek culture slipping into my makes, and before I knew it, most of my pieces were inspired by the fandoms I love most.
A lot of people aren't comfortable wearing fan t-shirts to work, nor is it practical to dress up in a full cosplay every weekend, but there are a lot of things you can do to create a closet cosplay - I'm known around the office for my corporate cosplays! I find that all it takes is the right accessory to turn an outfit - especially head-to-toe black - into a casual or corporate cosplay.
And that's where Buttons and Kittens comes in. I'm always thinking of new ideas to turn an otherwise normal outfit into an homage to a beloved fictional character, whether it's a Golden Snitch necklace or silver arrow earrings.
