Shadow’s Edge Studio was born from a lifelong career pursuit of storytelling through art—where beauty meets shadows, and imagination walks the fine line between dream and reality.
At the heart of the studio is artist Steve Stone, whose career spans decades across publishing, film, and commercial art. Since the mid-1990s, his work has travelled the world, shaping visual identities for books, games, and global brands.
But beyond the commissions and collaborations, there has always been a deeper calling—to create personal work that explores myth, mystery, and the darker edges of the human imagination.
In 2019, that calling became the focus.
What began as Stonenexus Studio evolved into a space where creative freedom could take centre stage. Each piece is built from a vast archive of handcrafted elements, layered and composed with obsessive attention to detail, resulting in artwork that feels both timeless and otherworldly.
Shadow’s Edge Studio is the next chapter in that journey.
This new name reflects not just a rebrand, but a refinement of vision—a step further into the atmospheric, the gothic, and the surreal. It is a place where stories are not simply illustrated, but uncovered… where every image hints at something just beyond the light.
Behind the scenes, the studio remains a close-knit collaboration. With decades of production experience, Sian ensures every print meets the highest standards from creation to delivery, overseeing everything from preparing products to managing listings, orders, and dispatch.
Her role brings together creativity, organisation, and customer care, helping the shop run efficiently while keeping customers at the heart of everything.
Together, we create and produce our prints in-house wherever possible, allowing us to maintain full control over quality and detail—because every piece we send out is a part of our story.
