I have a hard time throwing craft supplies away. I see failure in incomplete projects. AND I see possibility. MAYBE I'll do something with that. THINK what I could DO with that! Well, that line can spiral out of control. I just had to chuck stuff. The beading supplies, however - well, there's no reason to throw that stuff away! I always enjoyed making jewelry (that I probably wouldn't wear because I am usually running out of the house in a hurry) and I needed something to keep my hands busy while I watched TV. A hobby was reborn. I started to amass this collection of bracelets and decided that someone might want them - that's how Suziesparkles found her way onto Etsy.....
People have been pushing me to get my photographs out there for a long time. With this shop, I have no excuse to keep them hidden. If I can put my lighthearted jewelry out there for the world to see, keeping the real art hidden seems pretty ridiculous. On a trip to Paris early in the millenium I found some inspiration at an exhibit of Jean Cocteau's work at the Centre Pompidou. He crossed over so many artistic mediums - film, literature, visual art, etc. I decided I wanted to be the kind of artist that lived and breathed art and didn't limit herself to one branch. It is slowly bubbling up and out as I develop the courage to share it. You can see some of my visual work at sarahbothamphotography.com and you can purchase it here thanks to Suziesparkles.
