I have always enjoyed being creative. My main passion is hand embroidery, particularly cross stitch but I also love blackwork and counted stitching. I began creating my own designs when I couldn't quite find what I was looking for in shops and online. My main inspirations are Celtic art and the natural world but anything could inspire me to create a design.
I usually start with sketches on plain paper before transferring the idea onto squared paper. I then complete the design on specialised software. It is important to me to be the first person to stitch my designs. Not only does this give me the privilege of having something unique (albeit briefly!) but it also allows me to check that I am happy with every part of it before putting it on sale.
I work at home and I must admit I can get easily distracted by the birds outside my window, especially in spring and early summer when they're all so busy!
I hope you like my portfolio of designs. There are plenty more to follow!
