Sealed with Encouragement
I’ve been making cards for more than twenty years.
Long before Assured Woman Studio™ had a name, I was drawn to the deeply personal act of putting words on paper—choosing an image, writing a message by hand, and creating something that might encourage another woman at exactly the moment she needed it.
Creativity has followed me through many seasons of my life. So has entrepreneurship. I started businesses before this one, but the timing—and sometimes my vision—wasn’t quite right. For years, I would say that if I had steady income while developing my ideas and products, I could finally give a business the time and attention I knew it deserved.
I took early retirement in 2022.
A few years later, I remembered what I had been saying all along.
I realized I had been given the very opportunity I once thought I needed. And I also realized I didn’t want to spend another season burying gifts I was meant to use.
So, at 64 years young, I began again.
Today, Assured Woman Studio™ is part of my second act—and part of how I serve women. My creative process often begins quietly: an idea, a photograph, a handwritten phrase, a piece of paper on my table. I photograph and design the imagery, write the words in my own hand, and shape each piece with intention. I want what I create to retain evidence of the person who made it.
I believe encouragement can be beautiful without being complicated. Sometimes a few carefully chosen words are enough to remind a woman of something she already carries within herself—her courage, her wisdom, her worth, her ability to begin again.
And I believe encouragement is both something we receive and something we give.
That belief is at the heart of Assured Woman Studio™: creating beautiful, tangible reminders for the woman who needs the words herself—and for the woman who wants to pass them on.
This is creative work for me. It is also service. And in this season of my life, I finally understand that the two were never meant to be separate.
