Where Sketches Become Paintings
Hi, I’m Serena, the illustrator behind Blue Cup Studio.
Blue Cup Studio is a space for visual exploration—a place between a sketchbook and a finished artwork.
Here you'll find printable illustrations inspired by everyday objects, domestic rituals, plants, animals, colours, textures, and the small details that often go unnoticed in daily life.
Many of these images begin as quick sketches, visual notes, or simple associations that later evolve into larger paintings, illustrations, stories, or future projects. Blue Cup Studio is where those earlier stages live: a place to experiment, collect ideas, and expand the visual vocabulary behind my work.
I’m especially drawn to familiar objects with emotional presence—Italian coffee makers, ceramic vessels, books, flowers, bottles, favourite foods, sleeping animals, and the quiet arrangements that emerge naturally in everyday life.
Every illustration starts with drawing. Whether made from observation, memory, or imagination, each piece begins as a hand-drawn sketch before being developed digitally, preserving the imperfect and expressive quality of the original lines.
