Hallo mijn naam is Ariel. Ik hou van macrame!
Het begon allemaal toen ik twee plantenhangers in mijn keuken erkers wilde laten hangen. Ik besloot om te proberen er een te maken in plaats van hem te gaan kopen.
De eerste die ik maakte was gewoon een simpele met 4 stukjes jute en 12 gewone knopen. Ik schrok ervan hoe simpel het was. Ik wilde iets uitdagender leren. Dus ik deed mijn onderzoek en leerde steeds meer knopen te maken! Voor we het wisten hadden we plantenhangers en wandtapijten aan bijna elke muur in huis! Ik wilde niet stoppen, het werd een verslaving. Ik werd midden in de nacht wakker en dacht aan het volgende macrame-project dat ik zou gaan volbrengen.
Wat ik dacht dat nooit zou gebeuren, gebeurde! Ik werd wakker en ging meteen naar macraming (voor mijn koffie!) Zo kwam ik op mijn winkelnaam, But First Macrame.
De mogelijkheden zijn EINDELOOS! Er zijn miljoenen verschillende macramepatronen te ontdekken. Elk stuk is uniek op zijn eigen manier.
Plantenhangers zijn absoluut mijn favoriet om te macramen. Ik maak ook graag wandtapijten, planken en tafels. Soms combineer ik het zelfs allemaal in één! Een macrame plank die ook een tafel kan zijn die als een plantenhanger hangt maar een tapijtlook heeft. :)

It all started when I wanted two plant hangers to hang in my kitchen bay windows. I decided to try to make one instead of going to buy it.
The first one I made was just a simple one with 4 pieces of jute and 12 regular knots. I was shocked at how simple it was. I wanted to learn something more challenging. So I did my research and learned how to make more and more knots! Before we knew it we had plant hangers and tapestry's on almost every wall in the house! I did not want to stop, it became an addiction. I would wake up in the middle of the night thinking about the next macrame project I was going to accomplish.
What I thought would never happened happened! I woke up and went straight to macraming (before my coffee!) That's how I came up with my shop name, But First Macrame.
The possibilities are ENDLESS! There are millions of different macrame patterns to be discovered. Each and every piece is unique in its own way.
Plant hangers are definitely my favorite to macrame. I also like to make tapestry's, shelves, and tables. Sometimes I'll even combined it all into one! A macrame shelf that can also be a table that hangs like a plant hanger but has a tapestry look to it. :)
