Soy Anthony — Semper Fi, y bienvenidos a catchtherip.
Soy veterano de la Infantería de Marina de los Estados Unidos y exmiembro del programa Wounded Warrior. CatchTheRip comenzó como un pasatiempo con mi hijo de 8 años. Estábamos abrumados por la escuela y los deportes, así que empezamos a vender Pokémon y coleccionables juntos. Nos dio una razón para buscar, intercambiar y simplemente pasar el rato sin estar frente a una pantalla o un marcador.
Cómo me encontró la pintura
Pintar no era mi intención. Empecé a coleccionar miniaturas de Warhammer como terapia personal. El hecho de centrarme en los pequeños detalles me permitía desconectar del mundo por un rato. Eso derivó en pintar cosas que realmente disfruto: paisajes, peces, animales salvajes, mi dóberman... el tipo de escenas que me gustaría tener en mi pared.
Y aquí viene lo gracioso: no sé dibujar ni un monigote. Pero cuando cojo un pincel, se desata el caos en el lienzo, y de alguna manera ese caos se transforma en algo real. Todas mis pinturas al aire libre están hechas con acrílico sobre lienzo, normalmente a altas horas de la noche, cuando la casa se queda en silencio.

Catch the Rip son dos caras de la misma moneda:
Coleccionables y Pokémon: Selección conjunta de padre e hijo, obtenida de nuestros propios intercambios y búsquedas. Si a mi hijo le parece genial, probablemente esté en la tienda.
Fan art (NO es un juego de cartas coleccionables)
Pinturas acrílicas originales: escenas costeras, paisajes al aire libre y todo aquello que sentí mientras pintaba. Sin copias ni calcos. Cada lienzo es único, con toda la textura y los bordes irregulares propios de pintar guiándose por la intuición, no por las reglas.
Cómo creo
No tengo formación clásica. Empiezo con un color o una atmósfera y dejo que el pincel recorra un contorno. Eso significa que cada cuadro tiene imperfecciones: goteos, pintura espesa, una ondulación que tal vez no debería estar ahí. Las dejo. Esa es la parte terapéutica, y, sinceramente, es con esa parte con la que la gente conecta.
Yo misma preparo los pedidos en mi oficina de streaming, normalmente con mi hijo "inspeccionando" el plástico de burbujas. Envío rápido, pero si estoy en una cita con el Departamento de Asuntos de Veteranos o en un partido de béisbol, te avisaré.
CatchTheRip me mantiene con los pies en la tierra, me da tiempo para estar con mi hijo y demuestra que no hace falta ser artista para crear arte. Si compras algo en la tienda, estás apoyando a un veterano, a un padre y a un tipo que todavía no sabe dibujar ni un monigote.

I’m Anthony — Semper Fi, and welcome to catchtherip
I’m a United States Marine Veteran and Wounded Warrior Alumni. CatchTheRip started as a hobby with my 8-year-old. We were drowning in school and sports, so we started selling Pokémon and collectibles together. It gave us a reason to hunt, trade, and just hang out that wasn’t a screen or a scoreboard.
How painting found me
Painting wasn’t the plan. I picked up Warhammer minis as personal therapy time. Something about focusing on tiny details shut the rest of the world up for a while. That turned into painting things I actually enjoy — landscapes, fish, wildlife, my doberman. the kind of scenes I’d want on my wall.
Here’s the funny part: I can’t draw a stick figure to save my life. But when I put a brush in my hand, it’s chaos on a canvas — and somehow that chaos turns into something real. All my outdoor paintings are done in acrylic on canvas, usually late at night after the house goes quiet.

Collectibles & Pokémon: Father-son picks, pulled from our own trades and hunts. If my kid thinks it’s cool, it’s probably in the shop.
Fan Art NOT TCG
Original acrylic paintings: Coastal scenes, outdoors, and whatever I felt while the brush was moving. No prints, no tracing. Each canvas is one of one, with all the texture and rough edges that come from painting by feel, not by rules.
How I create
I’m not classically trained I start with a color or a mood and let the brush go over someoutline. That means every painting has flaws. Drips, thick paint, a wave that maybe shouldn’t be there. I leave them in. That’s the therapy part, and honestly, that’s the part people connect with.
Orders are packed by me in my streaming office, usually with my kid “inspecting” the bubble wrap. I ship fast, but if I’m at a VA appointment or a baseball game, I’ll let you know.
CatchTheRip keeps me grounded, gives me time with my son, and proves you don’t have to be an artist to make art. If you pick up something from the shop, you’re supporting a veteran, a dad, and a guy who still can’t draw a stick figure.
