Frequently asked questions

Who's behind Ceylon Archive?

Ceylon Archive is created by Sandun de Silva, a Sri Lankan-born photographer with twenty years of work spanning Asia and Europe — fashion, resorts, architecture, interiors, and travel, shot with a quiet, restrained eye that favours atmosphere over spectacle. His photography has appeared in Vogue, Condé Nast Traveller, GQ, Elle Decor, Rolling Stone, Robb Report, Forbes, and the Financial Times.

What is Ceylon Archive, and how are the prints made?

Ceylon Archive gathers two decades of Sandun's photography into a single, considered collection — fine art prints and Lightroom presets built from the same tonal language. It's a working archive rather than a catalog: new pieces are added as they're made, not on a schedule. Every print is produced through a trusted print-on-demand partner, using acid-free paper and fade-resistant pigment inks, and made to order once you purchase. Frames shown in listing photos are for illustration only and are not included — prints ship unframed unless a listing states otherwise.

Are these original photographs, and can I use them commercially?

Yes. Every fine art print in this shop is an original photograph taken by Sandun de Silva, and all photographs are the property of Sandun de Silva, who holds sole copyright and ownership. The Travel Series posters are illustrated pieces, but each one is based on one of his own original photographs — not stock imagery, AI-generated scenes, or another photographer's work. Purchasing a print gives you the right to display it personally — it does not include rights to reproduce, resell, or use the image commercially. Please get in touch if you're interested in a different kind of license.

What's your processing time, and can I cancel my order?

Every piece is made to order once purchased. Cancellations are accepted within 24 hours of purchase, before production begins — please message me as soon as possible if you need to cancel. After that window, production starts and typically takes 2–5 business days before shipping. Prints are shipped internationally; delivery times vary by destination and are shown at checkout. Please make sure your shipping address is correct at checkout, as I'm unable to redirect packages once production has started.

What if my order arrives damaged, or I want to return it?

Because every print is made to order specifically for you, I generally don't accept returns or exchanges for a change of mind. If your order arrives damaged, defective, or with a fault in the printing or materials, contact me within 14 days of delivery with clear photos of the issue and the packaging — I'll arrange a replacement or refund, no need to send the item back unless asked. Buyers within the EU have a separate legal right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days of delivery for any reason. To receive a refund, the item must be sent back within 14 days of notifying me, and return postage is the buyer's responsibility. Full details are in my shop policies.

Are Lightroom presets refundable?

Digital downloads are non-refundable once the files have been delivered, as they can't be "returned." If you have trouble downloading or installing your presets, message me — I'm happy to help troubleshoot.
