I’m Tarık, an industrial designer, and the hands & heart behind this shop. Long before I studied design, I dreamed of creating pieces that would accompany the purest moments of childhood. Pieces that aren't just "toys," but that also ignite imagination, shape the future, and become a part of the most beautiful memories.

I craft with care & honesty. In my workshop, every piece is designed and made with natural materials, shaped slowly and sincerely. Completely safe for little hands, durable enough to be kept for generations. Here, every product is a promise of quality and a celebration of natural simplicity.

In DesignUponToy, design follows play. I believe the best toys are the ones that become a seamless part of your home's aesthetic, not just another item in the kids' room. How long will it take to create my order?

I don't keep a large stock of items on a shelf. Instead, I begin crafting your piece with care as soon as you place your order.

Each toy and piece of furniture is handcrafted by me from start to finish. My current standard processing time is 5 to 7 business days before shipping.

For larger or personalized items, this may take a little longer. For the most accurate timeframe for a specific product, please refer to the individual listing page.

This time allows me to give each piece the attention to detail it deserves, ensuring it arrives perfect for your little one.

How long does delivery take?

Once your order has been prepared and handed over to the carrier, express shipments typically arrive within 1-3 business days, while standard shipments usually arrive within 3-7 business days.

Please note that these are estimates. While I do everything I can to ensure a fast delivery, potential delays in customs are outside of my control. If you have any questions along the way, feel free to reach out, I’ll be happy to assist you.

Can I return or exchange my order?

Yes, certainly. For standard (non-personalized) items, simply contact me within 14 days of delivery. Items must be returned in their original, unused condition.

As personalized items (with custom names, colors, etc.) are made especially for you, I cannot accept returns or exchanges for these pieces, unless they arrive damaged.

Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. For more details, please see my shop policies.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

Oh no, I am so sorry to hear that. I take great care in crafting and packaging every order, but sometimes accidents can happen during shipping. Please don't worry, I will make this right for you immediately.

Please contact me via Etsy messages within 7 days of receiving your order. To help me resolve this for you as quickly as possible, please include a photo of the damaged or incorrect item in your message.

Once I review the photo, I will immediately arrange to ship you a free replacement at no extra cost. My absolute priority is to ensure you receive the perfect product you ordered.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, of course. You can cancel your order for a full refund within 24 hours of purchase.

Why only 24 hours? As each piece is made to order, I often begin preparing your unique design and selecting the wood for it shortly after you place your order. Once I have started the crafting process, the order can no longer be cancelled.

If you have any questions or need to make a change, please contact me as soon as possible, and I will do my best to help.

Do you accept custom or personalized orders?

Yes, I love bringing your unique ideas to life! Many of the toys and furniture pieces in my shop can be personalized, whether it's with a specific color, a custom size, or a child's name.

If you have a special request or a new idea in mind, please send me a message. I would be happy to discuss how we can create the perfect piece together.

Please keep in mind that crafting a truly personal item takes a little extra time and care in the workshop. The result will be a one-of-a-kind piece, made just for you.

Are there natural variations in the wood?

Yes, absolutely. And I believe that's what makes each piece so special.

Wood is a beautiful, living material, living material. Just like a fingerprint, no two trees are exactly alike, which means the grain pattern and exact tone of your toy will be entirely unique to you.

These natural variations are not flaws, but the signature of real wood. They are a guarantee that you are receiving a truly one-of-a-kind, handcrafted item I made, not a factory-made product.

This inherent uniqueness is what makes my toys heirloom pieces, each with its own character and story.

Are your toys safe for children?

Yes, absolutely. Your child's safety is my highest priority, and I design every product with this philosophy:

• Non-Toxic Finishes: I use certified non-toxic, child-safe paints and oils that comply with the EN 71 toy safety standard. They are completely safe for little mouths.

• Perfectly Smooth: I carefully sand each toy by hand to ensure there are no sharp edges or splinters.

• Age-Appropriate Design: I design every product without small parts that could be a choking hazard, in accordance with the recommended age in the description.

How durable are your toys? Are they built to last?

I craft my toys to be heirloom-quality pieces, designed to last for generations. Their durability comes from the birch wood and careful craftsmanship I use.

Care & Safety Recommendations:

• Cleaning: Simply wipe with a slightly damp cloth. Please avoid soaking the item or using harsh chemicals.

• A Note on Little Explorers & Teething: While the finishes I use are non-toxic and child-safe, my toys are designed for play, not for teething. This helps protect the beautiful finish of your heirloom piece. For the safest play, supervision is always recommended.
