Beginning of something wonderful
Ciao, sono Jennifer, un'orgogliosa mamma single di tre meravigliosi bambini. Ho una passione per la grafica, ma non ho mai avuto la possibilità di portarla avanti come carriera. Lavoravo come badante per persone con disabilità, un lavoro che amavo, ma ho dovuto lasciarlo quando mio marito si è ammalato ed è morto. È stato il periodo più difficile della mia vita e non sapevo come andare avanti. Avevo bisogno di trovare un modo per guarire dalla mia perdita e anche di lavorare da casa e prendermi cura dei miei figli.
Un giorno ho scoperto Etsy, un luogo magico dove le persone possono vendere i propri prodotti fatti a mano e creativi. Sono rimasto stupefatto dalla varietà e dalla qualità dei prodotti che le persone producevano e vendevano. Ho pensato tra me e me, perché non provarci? Avevo un laptop e un background di progettazione grafica e avevo molte idee in testa.
Ho iniziato creando i miei progetti digitali per confezioni di bicchieri, candele, stivali, camicie, decorazioni da parete, agende e altro ancora. Li ho caricati nel mio negozio Etsy, che ho chiamato "DistinctiveJava". Ero nervoso ed emozionato allo stesso tempo. A qualcuno piacerebbero i miei disegni? Qualcuno li comprerebbe?
Con mia sorpresa e gioia, ho ricevuto il mio primo ordine entro una settimana. Era per una felpa che avevo disegnato. Ero al settimo cielo!
Questo è stato l'inizio del mio viaggio come venditore Etsy. Nel corso dei mesi successivi ho ricevuto sempre più ordini e richieste. Ho ampliato la mia gamma di prodotti e migliorato le mie competenze. Mi sono anche iscritto ad alcune community online di altri venditori Etsy, che mi hanno dato suggerimenti, consigli e supporto. Ho imparato molto da loro e ho conosciuto nuovi amici.
Ho passato gli ultimi mesi a costruire il mio negozio e a godermene ogni minuto. Le mie vendite hanno davvero iniziato ad aumentare nelle ultime settimane e ogni giorno rafforza la mia fiducia di poter davvero vivere il mio sogno mentre sono a casa con i miei bambini.
Sono molto grato ad Etsy per avermi dato questa opportunità. Sono grato anche ai miei clienti, che apprezzano il mio lavoro e sostengono la mia attività. Hi, I'm Jennifer, a proud single mom of three wonderful kids. I have a passion for graphic design, but I never had the chance to pursue it as a career. I used to work as a caregiver for people with disabilities, a job that I loved, but I had to leave it when my husband fell ill and passed away. It was the hardest time of my life, and I didn't know how to move on. I needed to find a way to heal from my loss and also work from home and take care of my kids.
One day, I discovered Etsy, a magical place where people can sell their handmade and creative goods. I was blown away by the variety and quality of the products that people were making and selling. I thought to myself, why not give it a try? I had a laptop and a graphic design background, and I had a lot of ideas in my head.
I started by creating my own digital designs for tumbler wraps, candles, boots, shirts, wall art, planners and more. I uploaded them to my Etsy shop, which I named "DistinctiveJava". I was nervous and excited at the same time. Would anyone like my designs? Would anyone buy them?
To my surprise and delight, I received my first order within a week. It was for a sweatshirt that I had designed. I was over the moon!
That was the start of my journey as an Etsy seller. Over the next few months, I received more and more orders and requests. I expanded my product range and improved my skills. I also joined some online communities of other Etsy sellers, who gave me tips, advice, and support. I learned a lot from them and made some new friends.
I have spent the last few months building my store and enjoying every minute of it. My sales have really started to pick up the last few weeks and every day it builds my confidence that I really can live my dream while being home with my kiddos.
I am so grateful to Etsy for giving me this opportunity. I am also grateful to my customers, who appreciate my work and support my business. I love what I do and I hope to continue doing it for a long time. Thank you for reading my story and visiting my shop. I hope you find something you like.
