Hallo!!!

Ich bin Kate (falls der Name des Ladens mich nicht schon verraten hat).

Ich gründete Kate Fox Design im März 2021 und machte aus meiner lebenslangen Leidenschaft für Illustration ein kleines Unternehmen, das sich zu etwas entwickelt hat, wovon ich nur träumen konnte.

Die zehn Jahre davor arbeitete ich im Personalwesen, in der Kommunikation und im Marketing (was mir wirklich sehr gefiel), aber meine wahre Leidenschaft galt schon immer dem Zeichnen. Ich war schon immer diejenige, die auf allem herumgekritzelt hat, was ihr in die Finger kam – Notizbücher, Papierfetzen und wahrscheinlich auch ein paar Dinge, auf denen ich während Meetings besser nicht hätte zeichnen sollen!

Kunst war mein Lieblingsfach in der Schule, und ich belegte es sowohl im GCSE- als auch im A-Level-Abschluss, bevor ich ein Kunst-Grundstudium absolvierte. Nach dem Abschluss fühlte ich mich angesichts der vielen talentierten Künstler zu eingeschüchtert, um eine kreative Karriere anzustreben. Daher wandte ich mich Bürojobs zu und hoffte insgeheim, eines Tages zur Illustration zurückzukehren.

Nachdem ich Ende 2020 meinen Job verloren hatte (danke, Corona!), und dank der großen Unterstützung meines wunderbaren Ehemanns, meiner Familie und meiner Freunde, beschloss ich, den Sprung zu wagen und zu sehen, ob mein Traum, vom Zeichnen zu leben, Wirklichkeit werden könnte. Und so entstand Kate Fox Design.

Seit der Gründung hat sich Kate Fox Design von einem kleinen Etsy-Shop zu einer florierenden Kreativmarke entwickelt, deren Kunstwerke mittlerweile weltweit Anklang finden. Ich hatte das Glück, mit einigen wundervollen Marken im Rahmen von Lizenzkollektionen zusammenzuarbeiten, darunter Skinnydip London und Next’s Love & Roses. So konnte ich meine Illustrationen auf wunderschönen Produkten und Kollektionen zum Leben erwecken. Neben diesen Kooperationen fertige ich weiterhin individuelle Kunstwerke für Kunden und Unternehmen an, bin auf den angesagten Märkten im Nordwesten Englands vertreten und biete meine Drucke über Etsy und meinen eigenen Online-Shop an.

Meine Kunstwerke sind von der Schönheit der Natur inspiriert – von Wildblumen und Pflanzen bis hin zu Tieren und den kleinen Details, die oft übersehen werden. Ich liebe es, mit Farbe und Textur zu arbeiten und nutze eine Mischung aus Bleistift, Aquarell, Gouache und digitaler Illustration, um Werke zu schaffen, die Freude, Nostalgie und Persönlichkeit ausstrahlen.

Am glücklichsten bin ich, wenn ich kreativ bin – meistens ziehe ich mich abends zurück, zeichne und höre im Hintergrund ein Hörbuch (und habe eine Tasse Tee in Reichweite!).

Wenn ich nicht arbeite, verbringe ich meine Zeit normalerweise mit meinen beiden frechen Töchtern, meinem lieben Ehemann oder genieße die Zeit mit Freunden und Familie.

Ich wohne in Manchester und liebe es immer noch, auf lokalen Märkten unterwegs zu sein. Wenn Sie mich also irgendwo sehen, sprechen Sie mich bitte an – ich würde mich sehr freuen, Sie kennenzulernen!

Hellooo!!!

I’m Kate (just in case the shop name didn’t give me away).

I set up Kate Fox Design in March 2021, turning my lifelong love of illustration into a little business that has grown into something I could only have dreamed of.

For the ten years before that, I worked in HR, Communications and Marketing (which I genuinely loved), but my real passion was always drawing. I’ve always been the person doodling on anything I could get my hands on — notebooks, scraps of paper, and probably a few things I shouldn’t have been drawing on during meetings!

Art was my favourite subject at school, and I studied it at GCSE and A-Level before completing an Art Foundation degree. After graduating, I felt too daunted to pursue a creative career amongst so many talented artists, so I headed into the world of office jobs and quietly hoped that one day I’d find my way back to illustration.

After being made redundant at the end of 2020 (thanks, Covid!), and with lots of encouragement from my wonderful husband, family and friends, I decided to take the leap and see if my dream of drawing for a living could become a reality. And so, Kate Fox Design was born.

Since launching, Kate Fox Design has grown from a little Etsy shop into a thriving creative brand, with my artwork now loved by customers all over the world. I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with some wonderful brands through licensed collections, including Skinnydip London and Next’s Love & Roses brand, bringing my illustrations to life across beautiful products and collections. Alongside these collaborations, I continue to create bespoke artwork for customers and companies, attend gorgeous markets across the North West, and share my prints through Etsy and my own online shop.

My artwork is inspired by the beauty of nature, from wildflowers and botanicals to animals and the little details that often go unnoticed. I love working with colour and texture, using a mix of pencils, watercolour, gouache and digital illustration to create pieces that feel joyful, nostalgic and full of personality.

I’m happiest when I’m creating — usually tucked away drawing in the evenings with an audiobook playing in the background (and a cup of tea nearby!).

When I’m not working, I’m usually keeping up with my two cheeky girls, spending time with my lovely husband, or enjoying time with friends and family.
