Nuestro concepto de tienda surgió cuando nos dimos cuenta de que nunca tendremos tiempo para reparar todo lo vintage que tenemos para compartir cuando comenzamos a sacar lo que llamamos nuestras "Cajas de Proyectos" y "La Parte Posterior del Estante" aquí en nuestro estudio vintage. Básicamente, se trata de cosechas acumuladas que van desde la época victoriana en adelante y que necesitan atención de un tipo u otro.
Algunos tienen problemas menores, como algunas costuras tensas, cuellos internos que se han oscurecido un poco o un susurro de bolitas en un suéter de cachemira.
Algunas piezas tienen manchas, otras se han descolorido, otras tienen colores que se han corrido. Tenemos un abrigo con forro oxidado. Hay sombreros a los que les faltan pedrería (también manejamos joyas y accesorios) y un fabuloso vestido de crepé con pedrería de femme fatale de los años 30 tiene agujeros de polilla en su dobladillo de cola de pez.

SABEMOS absolutamente que nunca terminaremos todos estos proyectos. Y aún MÁS, nos mataría llevar estas bellezas al vertedero. Entonces
¡Hemos decidido ofrecérselos a otros que son más inteligentes, más centrados y más astutos!
Quizás alguien se tome el tiempo de sentarse y volver a coser las pinzas del vestido turquesa. Tal vez alguien más pueda rescatar el increíble vestido largo de rayón con estampado hawaiano que está manchado y roto, pero que todavía tiene MUCHA tela que tal vez podría reutilizarse para convertirlo en un lindo vestido de verano. PENSÉ que lo haría; Simplemente no lo he hecho. todavía.
No nos malinterpretes, creemos TOTALMENTE en la preservación de la ropa y los accesorios antiguos, y algunas de estas ofertas serán excelentes para estudiar, inspirarte para un nuevo diseño o exhibirlas. Sin embargo, también sabemos que hay algunas piezas que van más allá de esos usos, por lo que si alguien más creativo y motivado que nosotros pueda amarlas, guardarlas o reciclarlas, creemos que sería maravilloso.
Fijaremos el precio de la mayor parte del inventario para cubrir nuestros costos iniciales; otras piezas tienen más valor intrínseco, o simplemente podrían atraernos más profundamente, por lo que pediremos un poco más por algunos artículos. Welcome to Less Than Perfect Vintage where we have slightly flawed vintage at a fraction of regular vintage prices!
Our shop concept came about as we realized we'll never have time to mend all of the vintage we have to share as we started to pull out what we refer to as our "Project Boxes" and "The Back of the Rack" here at our vintage studio. Basically, it's accumulated vintage ranging from the Victorian era forward that needs attention of one sort or another.
Some have pretty minor problems like a few strained seams, inner collars that have darkened a bit, or a whisper of pilling on a cashmere sweater.
Some pieces have spots, others have faded, others have colors that have run. We have a coat with an oxidized lining. There are hats that are missing rhinestones (we handle jewelry and accessories, too) and one fabulous 1930s femme fatale beaded crepe gown has moth holes in its swooping fishtail hem.

We absolutely KNOW that we will never finish all these projects. And even MORE absolutely it would kill us to tote these beauties to the landfill. So
we've decided to offer them to others here who are more clever, more focused, more crafty!
Perhaps someone will take the time to sit down and re-stitch the darts on the turquoise dress. Maybe someone else can salvage the amazing full-length rayon Hawaiian print dress that is stained and torn, but still has a LOT of fabric that could perhaps be re-purposed into a cute little sundress. I THOUGHT that I would; I just haven't done it. yet.
Now don't get us wrong, we FULLY believe in the preservation of vintage clothing and accessories, and some of these offerings will be excellent for study, or inspiration for new design, or for display. However, we also know there are a few pieces that are beyond those uses, so if they can be loved, saved or up-cycled by someone more creative and motivated than us, we think that would be wonderful.
We will price most inventory to cover our initial costs; other pieces have more intrinsic value, or just might appeal to us more deeply, so we'll ask a bit more for some items. If you would like to make an offer on something that you feel we may have priced too high, please contact us and we can go from there.
If you're handy with a needle and thread, or tend to get divine inspiration from a fabulous piece of vintage fabric, this just may be the place for you!
