Painting and history merge in my work
Comencé mi tienda para compartir mi arte que ha llenado mi corazón y mi vida durante los últimos 45 años. Siempre he querido ser y creído que soy un artista de corazón. Hago otras cosas que disfruto, como trabajar en mi tienda vintage y mis antiguas tiendas de fotos en Etsy, pero realmente lo que hago por mí mismo es mi arte. Siempre me ha encantado pintar, mi padre también es pintor y parece que el arte está en la familia, ya que mi hija menor también es artista y diseñadora. Durante los primeros 30 años mi arte giró en torno a acuarelas, óleos y gouache y luego vi una pintura encáustica en un viaje a México y me enamoré del medio de inmediato. Por lo tanto, durante los últimos 10 años he trabajado diariamente en mis pinturas de cera de abeja encáustica. Soy autodidacta. Una vez que descubrí la encáustica, todos mis otros médiums estaban casi solos por no usarlos. Mi última serie es de libros de cocina retro y el tema es colorido y me recuerda a cuando era más joven y cocinaba de mis libros de cocina de Betty Crocker con todo el arte vibrante y hermoso y fotos de pasteles y pasteles. Las pinturas encáusticas también tienen un maravilloso atractivo en 3D, así como un olor agradable.

I started my shop to share my art that has filled my heart and my life for the past 45 years. I have always wanted to be and believed that I am an artist at heart. I do other things I enjoy, like working in my vintage shop and my old photo shops on Etsy but really what I do for myself is my art. I have always loved painting, my father too is a painter and it seems art is in the family as my younger daughter is also an artist and designer. For the first 30 years my art revolved around watercolors, oils, and gouache and then I saw an Encaustic painting on a trip to Mexico and fell in love with the medium immediately. So, for the past 10 years I have daily worked on my encaustic beeswax paintings. I am self taught. Once I discovered encaustic, all my other mediums were almost lonely from not using them. My latest series is from retro cookbooks and the theme is both colorful and reminds me of when I was younger and would cook from my Betty Crocker cookbooks with all the vibrant and beautiful art and photos of cakes and pies. The encaustic paintings also have a wonderful 3D appeal as well as a nice smell.
