Knitting as a hobby is a way to declutter everyday stress, and clarify my thoughts.
In the beginning, knitting was a curiosity for me, but then I realized I had a talent and power to create beautiful things with my hands. I started knitting at a very young age and over time had had many opportunities to make extra income in college, and later in life. There have been many times when I've used knitting as a way to declutter my everyday stress. I have been able to accumulate a wide variety of finished products such as hats and scarves, baby and children's blankets, clothes, and soft comfy throws.
Many of my finished products have been donated to church or other charitable events, and many more have become gifts for baby showers, birthdays and Christmas.
I knit with great speed and sometimes I even amaze myself with how quickly I'm able to hand knit a child's sweater, scarf, or baby blanket often finishing in just 3-4 hours. I'm always lookout for good yarn deals and have accumulated lots of yarn over the years, as a backup income plan.
My knitting patterns are self-taught or inspired from magazines or previous successful patterns that have been popular with buyers over the years. I also get a lot of inspirations from Pinterest and others' knitting stories from all over the world. Most of all, I'm inspired by fun color palettes and very easy classic patterns.
Since the lockdown and losing my job due to COVID, I'm eager to start selling some of my hand crafted/knitted products as a way to earn money and support myself.
