Thistlefields

thistlefields was conceived out of a desire to inventory and share some of the work I was doing with my mini moon series. I was living alone in Milwaukee and I started creating the moons in an almost therapeutic nature, letting my mind wander as I created and then hanging them throughout my studio apartment. They invoked a sense of space and presence that I felt like sharing with family and friends and now you!

Just as the moon paintings provide a meditation practice for my anxiety and depression, milk thistle is a powerful antioxidant that helps the body cope when under stress. Considered a weed by many, it is without a doubt still unique and colorful.
