Who We Are
Trailmark is a Sydney-based family who plan our holidays around great walks. We're a bit of an unlikely combination — an Irishman, a Canadian, and two kids who've been dragged up enough mountains that they now actually plan our treks.
Between us we've hiked in Tasmania's wilderness, the Snowy Mountains, the Blue Mountains, the Canadian Rockies around Banff and Lake Louise, the South Island of New Zealand, the Dolomites, the French and Italian Alps, the west coast of Ireland, and the highlands of Scotland. We've canoed through Algonquin Park in Ontario and skied at Whistler and Mont Tremblant. Some of our favourite family memories have happened on a trail.
But some of our most stressful pre-trip hours have also happened trying to plan those trails — scattered across blog posts, PDFs that haven't been updated since 2019, and forum threads where half the links are dead.
That's why we built Trailmark.
What We Make
Each Trailmark guide is a complete, self-guided trail plan for one of Australia's iconic walks. We research every route ourselves — including permits, campsites, water sources, gear considerations, seasonal conditions, flora and fauna, and cultural context — and package it into a clean, beautifully designed PDF you can download immediately and take into the field.
No paywalls. No subscriptions. No "part two coming soon." Just everything you need for one walk, in one document.
Our current guides cover the Kosciuszko National Park region in the NSW Snowy Mountains, including the Snowies Alpine Walk, the Mt Kosciuszko Sunrise Hike, the Summit Walk, and the Dead Horse Gap Loop. We're actively working on collections for the Blue Mountains, the Overland Track in Tasmania, and the Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory.
