From Glitter & Rainbows to Creating Rainbows
Each stained glass item is individually handmade, varies by color, shape, size. This glass art is influenced by the wabi-sabi Japanese aesthetic. Positive and negative space is also important to each stained glass creation. One sheet of glass can vary greatly inch by inch and it is in these beautiful imperfections, where the art takes on its most uniquely attractive attributes.
“In order to have friendship you must look past the color to the soul, because within the soul lies a rainbow of many colors.”
In that quote, I met my best friend who has inspired much laughter, creative thought & beautiful handmade gifts.
As a child, Glitter & Rainbows were my favorite things to decorate with. On EVERYTHING. Much to the dismay of my Mother. Glitter, being the herpes of crafts, did end up all over the house. The love has not dissipated, but is only used sparingly in certain jewelry pieces now.
Those two women have been the push & inspiration behind the creation of these stained glass items.
My Mother is an artist who has allowed me to tinker & learn every single craft she takes up. Therefore I learned the art of Stained Glass 14 years ago when she would attend festivals to sell handmade goods. I would create birthday gifts for my best friend & from her 25th birthday these creations were born.
With each sale, a donation will be made to The Franky Fund at BARCS Animal Shelter in Baltimore which saves the lives of many critically ill animals.
