We Make Our Own Therapy
Back in late 2017 I started therapy and quickly discovered that it wasn't working for me. I tried my hardest but I ended up just psychoanalysing myself which certainly want my job to do. At the start of 2017 I was officially diagnosed with both anxiety and depression which had been a long wait since I'd previously been to therapy five years previous and told I was doing everything for attention and that it was a phase all teenage girls go through.
Now you're probably wondering where the bracelets come into it? Well it originally started as me wanting to make Thanos bracelets for Endgame being released but then when I watched more and more videos on how to make them did I actually realise this could be very therapeutic. Cut to me buying my first pack of thread and making my first bracelet. It was so soothing and not on my darkest days I force myself out of bed to make bracelets even if they aren't orders.
That's why I started my Etsy shop, so everyone could buy one at an affordable price but also it gave me motivation. If someone has ordered a bracelet I need to make it so it in turn actually gets me out of bed.
I'm thankful to everyone who's supported me from all around the world and ordered a bracelet. It's extremely important to me that you all know how much I value each and every one of you that has visited my shop since I started.
Another important thing for me was to make a LGBTQ+ range. As a member of the queer community I wanted to give back and that's why I wanted to support Switchboard and so far we've raised £13.50 and although that may not seem like a lot; every little helps.
