Due to a company merger, I found myself retiring early from the human resources field in July 2008. At my age, I didn't want to start all over again in a new career with another company. What do I do now? I've worked in an office every year since 1966! I always wanted to live in the country, so I decided to leave the city of St. Louis, MO, and leave the corporate world behind. I found a sweet house on 10 acres 2 1/2 hrs. away in south central Missouri Ozarks.....and moved in on Thanksgiving Day no less! Okay.....now what do I do to supplement my dwindling savings....I was still too young for social security. They always say do what you know! I had previously sold vintage jewelry from a shop I shared with an artist in St. Louis, MO and I loved doing that so in 2008 and 2009, I started selling vintage jewelry and accessories on three online venues. However, I didn't feel a sense of community, fees were high, and sales were slow. Then I found Etsy and opened my shop in Sept. 2009. The rest is history! I have been happily selling vintage jewelry, accessories, and other lovelies from my exclusive Etsy shop. The best of both worlds.....my country home and doing what I love. When one door closes another one always opens! I am so happy it has been a success.
Researching the designers and their artistic designs of vintage jewelry is something I enjoy very much, and I want to pass this information to my customers so they know what they are buying. Preserving the history and artistic design of this beautiful jewelry is always my goal. These unique pieces tell a story to be passed down through the generations. A story of love, talent, intrigue, struggle. Read the histories I provide and you'll see what I mean.
It is my intent to encourage women to dance to the beat of their own drummer. Be an individual....a one-of-a-kind woman! Vintage jewelry makes a statement to everyone around her that she knows who she is, she knows what she wants, and she has the courage to be different! To swim upstream!
