Welcome to Color of Weather! My name is Mary Clare and I have more than a decade long history in the fashion industry from technical design to specialized alterations, and have sewn all my life.
My designs are inspired by the silhouettes and details of traditional folk costumes and are an homage to the ability of anyone to create and dress in a way that makes them feel beautiful.

My passion is for women to sew their own unique clothing, and the folk flavor of my creations is an homage to the "Power to the People" mindset of creating our own clothes.

I believe sewing and the pursuit of craft connects us to those that came before us, as well as our inner selves in the creative pursuit of beauty and personal growth. Sewing is a tool for self discovery and self love! I hope my patterns will be a tool for greater creativity and joy in your life.

Although I was ultimately unable to understand and use a digital pattern, Mary Clare was very helpful with helping me. I highly recommend this original bonnet design if you are handy with digital design skills.

Took me a moment to piece the pattern, labelling of pieces could have been better, but the end result was super and I am really pleased. Will be making more than one. I used satin to line the bonnet part to protect my curly hair.
