The Story:
Check each bulb, make sure they all light
The sky surrounds, gleams, and glows so bright
A dove perched upon the roof in flight
As a symbol of peace to guide winter's night
Our house is sure to stand out on the street
The neighbours I'll outdo, and always beat
Puppies are quiet supporters, wagging tales nearby
Persistent racoons keep hoping for a candy light they can try
For all the seeds we share with our loving birdy friends
They offer to help hang lights with their wings on lend
Trying to teach the kids all about hard work
When promoting tradition, I always get that smirk
No matter anyhow, when we're together, it's more fun
One day they will get it, and miss it a ton
When decorating's done, we'll sip on hot cocoa, with marshmallows that resemble oneself
Family time always brings me such joy and a feeling of great wealth
