This is a natural orthoclase, cats eye moonstone bezel set in solid sterling silver with a rounded comfort fit band.
The stone is a cabochon cut 17 mm x 10 mm oval.
The band is 4 mm wide and 2 mm thick to endure everyday wear.

This moonstone is a variety found in Sri Lanka. Its commonly called "cats eye moonstone" for the chatoyant reflection it produces in light.
The silky pearl like reflection is strong in this stone and visible even in low light conditions. This is the exact ring you'll receive.

Moonstone belongs to the large mineral family of feldspars. Moonstone colors vary widely. They can be green, yellow to brown, or gray to nearly black or white with adularescent effects. Moonstone is the most valuable form of feldspar and is composed of albite, which gives its chatoyant sheen.
Moonstone's floating light that appears to emanate from within is known as "adularescence" also called "fire". It is caused by structural anomalies within the stone, which refract or scatter incoming light. The size or thickness of these anomalies determines the color and strength of the floating light.

This stone is highly regarded in India where it said to help balance and master emotions and enhance intuition.
