If you're anything like us, then when it comes to your food and body you stay as far away from petroleum products and by-products as possible. We've eschewed the most widely used cutting board conditioner, mineral oil, to bring you an all natural alternative for keeping your end-grain or edge-grain cutting board in top condition.
This listing is for one 4oz glass jar of our board butter. For an 8oz option click here: www.etsy.com/listing/181426878
Ingredients: organic coconut oil, organic walnut oil, organic beeswax, organic essential oil, and vitamin E.
We also offer a beeswax-free vegan version here: www.etsy.com/listing/193954093
Please keep in mind that walnut oil may irritate those with nut-allergies, though I haven't personally heard of that happening. We'd be happy to omit the walnut oil if possible allergic reactions are a concern. Just select "Without Walnut Oil" from the options menu when purchasing your board oil.

~~This stuff is GREAT! Just the right consistency to spread easily. I let it soak in for half hour or so to penetrate the wood, the wiped off. My board(s) have never looked better!~~
~~This product is fabulous! It penetrates Mexican ebony, bloodwood, maple, jatoba, and bamboo equally well. It is very easy to apply and has a pleasant lemon scent that lingers for days following application. I was using mineral oil prior to this product. Mineral oil does not keep the utensils conditioned as long as this product. I highly recommend this as a food-safe wood conditioner over mineral oil.~~
~~Great! Smells so good my kid asked if she can eat it.~~
~~Works well. I love that it's organic.~~
~~fast shipping and in full support of small family run business. great product! thank you~~

Coconut Oil is an extremely stable oil that will not only moisturize and nourish your cutting board, but the antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties of coconut oil will help keep your board from making you sick. You don't need to worry about imparting your dishes with an unwanted coconut flavor as long as you use your board oil properly (a little bit goes a long way).
Walnut Oil is a very stable oil known as a hardening oil because it polymerizes upon contact with air, and will form a hard coating over time. This oil penetrates nicely into your board and helps create a durable finish which will protect and seal your cutting board.
Beeswax gives your board oil a firmer texture to aid in application, creates a slightly waxy coating that helps seal your board, and fights off the nasties with its natural antimicrobial properties.
Vitamin E is a natural preservative that will help extend the shelf life of your board oil.
Both Lemon and Grapefruit Essential Oils are known for their powerful antibacterial and antiseptic properties and will help keep your cutting board sanitary, as well as smelling great.
|| Usage ||
To use your board oil, simply rub in just enough to lightly coat your clean board, wipe off any excess (or leave it), and start chopping. Apply heavily and leave on overnight for deeper penetration.
Use whenever your board begins to look a little overused and dry.

Please keep in mind that shipping your board conditioner to or through hot climates, particularly in the summer months, may result in liquefaction. Your conditioner will firm up once it reaches room temperature. In general, your board conditioner will become harder in cooler environments and softer in warmer environments: such is the nature of coconut oil and beeswax.
Your Organic Cutting Board Conditioner should be kept out of direct sunlight.
