“Rainbiw Motel”
“Holiday House Motor Hotel”
“Nay’s Motel”
“El Rancho Motor Hotel”
each is acrylic on gallery wrapped 6X6 inch canvas, with all sides painted featuring an extension of the compositions.
own a tiny piece of original art capturing a piece of Saskatchewan Heritage!
“Rainbow Motel” features Swift Current’s Rainbow Motel which is still operational, albeit with different signage.
“Holiday House Motor Hotel” features Saskatoon’s old Holiday House which was located on 8th Street and has since sadly been demolished.
“Nay’s Motel” features Nay’s Motel which was located on 100th St in North Battleford Saskatchewan, and was popular in the 60s-70s but is no longer in operation.
and my personal favourite, “El Rancho Motor Hotel” features the El Rancho Motel and Restaurant which was located in Weyburn, and has since been demolished.
each painting in the mini motel series was made almost entirely with artist grade, archival materials meaning you will enjoy their vibrancy for years to come. the underpainting colours may fade after long term exposure to direct UV as they are fugitive neon pigments, but most of this colour is covered up with other layers which will protect the underpainting. I take pride in producing paintings that will outlive myself, given they are handled with care. I welcome any questions about my work and the materials used to produce them! My inbox is always open.
these paintings would add a lovely pop of colour, and makes for a lovely gift for someone who has visited, is from, or perhaps lives in Saskatoon or the surrounding area.
Mini Motels were lovingly made by me, Aleksi Ann in my studio in beautiful North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada.
