Strategy Crib is an obscure and challenging version of traditional cribbage that I believe needs to be rediscovered! This is a one-of-a-kind design.
A while ago, I had a customer send me a grainy photo of a department store flyer from 1987 featuring a "strategy crib board", asking me to make one. A game that felt like crib mixed with snakes and ladders. Land on a forward hole and propel yourself ahead, increasing your lead. Hit a backward hole and feel the setback. The 'strategy' lies in getting your opponent to go for that extra 2 points to send them back 5 or 9 places. I quickly built a mockup and challenged my wife. She kicked my butt, but the game is a BLAST!
I designed a few different versions of this game ranging from an easy make on a CNC router, to a difficult level version with several steps involved. This rectangular board is moderately difficult to make, and it's one I've made several of in the past. Now you can as well.
