This exquisitely stylized heart was created from an original carved in pattern wax and translated into a limited edition kiln cast crystal glass pendant designed by Thomas McPhee. Thomas designs and creates the original artwork and Judy casts and finishes the piece.

The green and yellow glass crystals were cast to make this unique one-of-a-kind pendant. No two are alike with this procedure of casting. Also available in Dark ruby red and golden yellow. More colours to choose from, please enquire.

Pâte de verre is a formula for cast lead crystal glass developed among ancient classical societies and revived by French decorative arts like Galle and Tiffany at the turn of the 20th Century. We have developed our own process down to the point of being able to imitate original material. Some cast pieces resemble gem stones such as amethyst, sapphire, tourmaline or emerald. It can also look like jade or agate with the opaque coloured glass. The bubbles in the glass pieces are a characteristic of kiln cast glass. Each piece is created individually by adding glass frit to a refractory mold of the design and firing at temperatures above 1450 degrees Fahrenheit. After it is cooled, the backs are ground and polished and the piece is ready to wear.
