These silicone molds make wonderful oval shaped art stones to fulfil your creative needs. The art stones come out smooth and are great to paint on. Can be used for so much!

Making art stones is easy!
The Process to make your art stones -
You will need to purchase the gypsum powder or a casting powder separately to make your stones/rocks - I recommend using Ultracal 30 (highest strength gypsum - it is harder, heavier and better for painting than plaster of paris) - available online in most parts of the world but if you can't get it don't worry - just use a casting powder. Sorry I don't sell it.

Mix the powder with water following the directions provided with the mixture.
Pour into the molds.
Wait approximately 4 hours or overnight.
This is the fun bit! - Turn out your art stone/rock. It comes out beautifully smooth!
Allow to dry thoroughly for about a week depending on climate. Some people so put castings in a slow oven to speed up the drying process.
So much joy painting it!!
If using Ultracal 30 - using both 1 large oval and 1 small oval mold
To 104 g / 3.66 oz water add 275 g / 9.7 oz powder

The art stone castings are heavy and often expensive to post - therefore expensive to buy. Casting is fun and easy - it’s economical to source casting powder locally and enjoy making them yourself from our molds. What you use to make the Art stones depends where you live and what you have available. You will need to purchase the casting powder separately to make your stones/rocks –
Many casting plasters work well. I like using Ultracal 30 (highest strength gypsum powder - it is harder, heavier and better for painting than plaster of paris) - available online or in casting/modelling supply shops in most parts of the world. Unfortunately, in some places it can be hard to get or expensive.
In USA / Canada alternatives include Perfect Cast, Rapid Set Motar mix from Home Depot, Dental Stone powder.
In the UK - Crystacast or Herculite Stone.
In Australia and NZ - Dental or Casting Plaster from Bunnings.
