Black, flat, satin cummerbunds were traditionally worn at Black Tie events with a tuxedo, for the discerning dresser. Marlene Dietrich wore them, Dean Martin & the Rat Pack & even Brad Pitt in more recent years. They are all sexy & smooth with more than a hint of class. These however are a vibrant Royal Blue & were custom made for a Youth Orchestra. Made in a cotton/polyester I think with black bemsilk lining & a strip of Velcro© along the inside centre so the straps can be moved in or out to fit. Pleated at the front section. 1 has removable, big, strong, metal loop clip things & 1 has removable, black plastic device to close at the back.

Would be fabulous as intended, for a band or on stage, but also for a costume, the Prom, Formal, Cotillion or Wedding.

1 is 11 cms - 4 1/2 ins deep at the centre front & 115 cms - 45 1/4 ins long when undone fully ,

++++In 1966, women finally had a version of their own, which is probably why Yves Saint Laurent's "le smoking" debuted on the runways of Paris in the fall of 1966. A suit for women, (pictured above) was re-designed to complement a woman's natural curves, presented with a cummerbund or a matching waistcoat, high-heeled black satin boots & white frilly blouse - finished at the neck with an oversized silk bow.
