Of course, it deals with the notion of being different. Ella learns the importance of appreciating those things that are unique, such as her orange polka dot raincoat, as the day at the amusement park unfolds. This story also serves as a good reminder that it is important to discuss issues such as peer pressure. Finally, this adventure brings to light the importance of kindness and helping others, which Ella demonstrates towards the lost and frightened kitten the family finds at the amusement park who they happily help reunite with his family.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR:

I am a Canadian author and illustrator who has self-published three books in the Ella Says children's picture story book series. I personally create my books from concept inception, to written storyline, to illustrated pages, and finally to formatted children’s paperback. I rely on print-on-demand services to publish my books.

I love creating stories that inspire young children to read and develop a lifelong passion for literature. I believe young readers deserve stories made interesting through vibrant characters, the tension created by an incident that escalates to a climax, and delivery of a beautiful resolution. I incorporate these elements into my stories, along with a touch of whimsy to spark young imaginations! I also weave underlying messages into my stories—they are intentionally subtle, only meant to foster a child's understanding and facilitate important conversations with the adults in their lives. I also believe that children deserve stunning artwork that not only helps tell the story they are reading, but that also challenges the way they see the world and helps them view things in a different light. My hope is that my books engage children's minds long after they put them down.
