I have a space in an antique store that specializes in home decor called Blue Door. The shop specializes in shabby chic or the cottage look. My space features vintage linens. I love tablecloths, napkins, bed spreads, and old embroidered pillowcases with lace. I also love botanical and bird prints. I look for old frames and reframe the prints, often painting the frame to flatter the print. I recently invested in a mat cutter and have been working to master that. I have a "real" job as an adjunct instructor in the English Department at Grand Rapids Community College. I buy most of my linens at estate sales and then prepare them by removing stains, laundering, then pressing them with lavender linen water. I actually like to iron, especially with the linen water. I just found out that Etsy has vintage items, so I decided to give it a try.
