Back in the 70's I became a macrame artist full time in Honolulu: designing and knotting delicate jewelry from colorful nylon #18 cord plus lots of tiny beads and shells -- the same features that identify micro macrame today. It was the best time of my life...living a block from the beach and creating lovely adornments for a living.
Having finally escaped the corporate world, I'm free to get back to doing what I love most. The vintage beads, Hawaiian shells, and cord are unpacked, my creativity is unleashed, and all that is missing is the beach. So I get out the Hawaiian records, sit on the floor making macrame like in the old days, and the beach comes back to me. I'm forever tied to the sea.
