If the items fit in a medium or large flat rate priority box, that may be the best option. The boxes are free at USPS and "if it fits, it ships" for flat rate cost.

It depends mainly on the size of the package not the weight, for big boxes FedEx is the cheapest way, there are some items that cannot be shipped through USPS due to the size.
The biggest box I would ship on USPS is a 16" box, bigger than that would be cheaper on FedEx, it doesn't mater the weight (dimensional weight applies to big boxes).
