We sell buttermints that cool the burn of spicy food!
A passion for spicy food, a love of baking, and a fascination with chemistry all came together to create ANTI SPICE buttermints.
My name is Leyieta May Rose Nibler, and I am the creator behind ANTI SPICE. I have always been a huge fan of spicy food. In fact, I often find myself sitting in my favorite Thai restaurant, adding hot sauce until I’m trying to hide the fact that I’m taking deep breaths just to handle the heat.
The problem? I’m not a fan of milk, and I’m even less of a fan of paying for a glass of it when I’m out to eat. My usual solution was to drink five or six glasses of water and simply endure the burn until it faded.
One evening, after another particularly spicy meal, I jokingly told my husband that someone should invent a mint you could eat after spicy food to make the burning sensation go away. Instead of laughing it off, he said it sounded like a great idea. The very next day, I began working to turn that idea into reality.
As someone with a baking background and a love for chemistry, I started experimenting. During that time, I even began having strange dreams where I was reaching into dark boxes and feeling the edge of something just before waking up. Looking back, I think it was my brain trying to process the challenge of creating something that didn’t yet exist.
After more than 16 variations and seven months of testing, the ANTI SPICE buttermint was finally born. To my surprise and excitement, I had successfully created a buttermint that helps cool the burn caused by capsaicin, the compound responsible for the heat in spicy foods.
With that breakthrough, the patent process began. Today, ANTI SPICE is both patent pending and trademark pending, and I’m thrilled to share it with fellow spicy food lovers who might need a little relief after turning up the heat.
