Wool free - Vegan - Creative
Hey there! 👋 I'm Lucy (or Lu, whichever you prefer!), and I'm the maker behind BaaLessKnits, nestled in the lovely city of Norwich. My journey into the world of vegan knits started back in 2015 when I went vegan. Like many of you, I was on the lookout for cosy, hand-knitted items that were completely animal-free. But it was surprisingly tricky to find beautiful pieces that weren't blended with wool or other animal fibres. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and started knitting my own 100% vegan creations! 🧶
That's how BaaLessKnits was born! Every item you see here is designed by me, making them truly original and unique pieces. ✨
When it comes to choosing yarn, I put a lot of thought into it. For me, it's got to tick a few important boxes:
* Great Quality: I want your knits to look and feel amazing.
* Hardwearing: They need to stand up to everyday wear.
* Cost-Effective: I believe beautiful vegan knits shouldn't break the bank.
* Absolutely Zero Animal Fibres: This is my top priority!
You'll often find me working with wonderful man-made fibres like acrylic, nylon, and polyester. There are a few reasons for this. Firstly, it helps keep my prices accessible. Secondly, the sheer variety of synthetic yarns available means I can often find just the right texture and weight for any project. And finally, many synthetic yarns have a fantastic 'woolly' feel without any of the potential allergens that can come with animal fibres.
I also love working with plant-based yarns whenever I can, and many of my designs can be made with alternative fibres upon request. Just send me a message if you have something specific in mind, and we can chat about the options and any price adjustments. 😊
So, whether you're vegan like me or simply have sensitivities to wool and other animal fibres, you can be sure that anything you find at BaaLessKnits is made with you in mind. 🌱
When your order is ready to go, it will come with a tag telling you exactly what fibres have been used and how to care for your new knit. I'll wrap it up nicely in tissue or Kraft paper and send most items in a reusable box or a biodegradable mailing bag, sealed with compostable paper tape. Every little bit helps! 🌍
