For the love of farm ❤️
Several years ago, after moving to an almost 300-year-old farm and living in a converted hog shed from the 18th century in the rural mid-Atlantic, I knew that I had found my place in the world…on a farm! I quickly fell in love with farm life, farmhouse style, and the unique vintage and antique decor from local barn sales that took over my 500 square foot home. I loved the idea that each piece had a story, a purpose, and someone who loved it well before me, and I just couldn’t get enough!
Fast forward years later, and my husband and I now live on a little farm in the heart of Illinois prairie country, with three rescue cats, two rescue dogs, and three (pet) cows 🐄 We are always on the hunt for the perfect farmhouse find! We started this Etsy shop on a whim in the summer of 2024 (mostly because we don’t have space for all of our fun finds!), and it has been such a great adventure. We love breathing life back into these pieces and helping their stories continue on! Here in our shop, our style is what I like to call “eclectic, intergenerational farmhouse”…you will find items ranging from early 1800’s antiques to vintage 1990’s.
Our goal is to continue growing this little business enough to turn it into a brick and mortar endeavor with proceeds going towards a farm animal sanctuary, which is our other future dream! Thank you so much for supporting Bigby’s General Store. We are so grateful! 🐓
