Tiny cabin of creativity
I live in the heart of the rainforest, on an island off the west coast of Canada. The island is sparsely populated; mostly by artists, farmers, and other very colourful individuals. We are off the electrical grid and there is no car ferry to the island. It is an ideal place to produce art but taking work to the city to show and sell is challenging. Etsy is a perfect solution.
I began painting 40 years ago. My work has been shown in galleries in Canada and the US and most of my friends have at least one on their walls!
I paint in my small cabin which is powered by solar panels in the summer and a water wheel in the winter. The elements are very close and powerful here. All winter I tend the fire in my woodstove, listen to the rain on the roof, navigate the dark with a head lamp; I am rarely out of gumboots. In the summer the ocean is warm enough to swim and the gardens are abundant with food. The peace and beauty of this place are not always depicted in my work but are present there nonetheless.
I like ordering things from Etsy. It is so much fun to receive a package in my mailbox! And I enjoy putting things in the post for people and feeling that web of connection to the world through creativity.
Thanks for visiting my site. Feel free to drop me a note whether or not you place an order.
