EllesPrintCo — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

At EllesPrintCo, I take your privacy seriously. I create personalised wedding stationery and only use your personal information where it is needed to complete your order and provide the service you have requested.

This privacy policy explains how I collect, use, store and delete personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

EllesPrintCo is a small, independently run business operated by Elle in the United Kingdom.

For the purposes of applicable data protection law, I am responsible for the personal information I collect and use to fulfil your order.

Contact: Please contact me through Etsy Messages for privacy enquiries, requests concerning your personal information or questions about this policy.

2. What information do I collect?

Depending on your order, I may collect:

* Names of the couple and other individuals appearing on your stationery.
* Wedding date, ceremony time and other event details.
* Venue names, addresses and relevant guest information.
* Wording for invitations, RSVP cards, menus, seating plans and signs.
* Photographs you choose to supply for personalised designs.
* Design preferences and corrections you request.
* Information contained in your Etsy order and messages, including the details necessary to manage your purchase.

Please only provide information that is necessary for your stationery. Avoid sending sensitive information about yourself or your guests unless it is genuinely needed for the design.

3. Why do I use your information?

I use your information to:

* Personalise and prepare the stationery you have ordered.
* Communicate with you about your design, amendments and delivery of digital files.
* Resolve queries and provide after-sales support.
* Maintain appropriate order and financial records.
* Meet legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims where necessary.

I rely on the appropriate lawful basis for each activity. This will generally be taking steps to fulfil your order or perform our contract, complying with legal obligations, or pursuing legitimate interests such as maintaining appropriate business records and resolving disputes.

Where consent is required for a particular use, I will ask for it separately.

4. How is your information stored?

Personalisation information may be stored in password-protected accounts and working files in Canva, which I use to create your stationery.

I use an order-specific filing system to record the information needed to complete your design and its scheduled deletion date.

I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including restricting access to my working files and accounts, using appropriate account security and avoiding unnecessary copies or downloads.

Please be aware that Canva is an online service, so information entered into its platform may be processed by Canva and its relevant service providers under their own terms and privacy arrangements.

5. Who may receive your information?

I do not sell your personal information.

Information may be processed by service providers where necessary to operate my shop or fulfil your order, including:

* Etsy: for order management, customer communication and the operation of my shop.
* Canva: to create, edit and store personalised designs.
* Relevant technical or service providers: where their involvement is necessary to deliver the service or maintain secure systems.

These providers may process information in different locations. Where international data transfers are applicable, the relevant legal requirements and safeguards must be considered.

I may also disclose information where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

6. How long do I keep your information?

I keep personalisation information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected.

For personalised wedding stationery, I record a scheduled deletion date in the relevant working file. My intention is to delete the personalisation information and associated working copies by that date, once the order has been completed and any necessary amendments or support have been dealt with.

For example, an order file may be labelled:

Couple’s names — wedding date — DELETE BY: [date]

I aim to delete personalisation files from my Canva working area and other locations under my control when their retention period ends. This does not necessarily remove copies held in backups or by third-party providers, which may be subject to their own retention practices.

Some order, transaction or accounting records may need to be retained for longer to meet legal obligations or deal with disputes. Where possible, these records will be kept separate from detailed personalisation files.

7. Your photographs and design previews

Photographs and personal details supplied for your stationery will be used to create your order.

I will not use your photographs, names, wedding details or finished personalised designs in my portfolio, social media or marketing without obtaining your permission where required.

Please ensure that you have the necessary permission to share photographs or personal information belonging to other people with me for the purpose of creating your stationery.

8. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

* Request access to the personal information I hold about you.
* Ask me to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
* Request deletion of your information.
* Request that I restrict certain processing.
* Object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests.
* Request a copy of information you have provided in a portable format where the legal requirements apply.
* Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions. For example, I may need to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations.

To exercise your rights, please contact me through Etsy Messages. I may need to verify your identity before responding.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your personal information has been handled improperly. You can find guidance at https://ico.org.uk/.

9. Changes to this policy

I may update this privacy policy if my business practices or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published in my Etsy shop.

Thank you for trusting EllesPrintCo with the details that help make your stationery personal.

Designed with love, by me.
