I am a cross stitcher designing for cross stitchers.
Let me take you through my process.
I usually start designing from a doodle that I have drawn in my notebook. From there, I choose a color that I think will suit the design. After that, I sit down at my computer and start working on my cross stitch program, trying to make that doodle transfer over into cross stitch. When I make a cross stitch chart, I try to avoid using similar symbols, and I strive for easy readability by not making the symbols too small. It can take up to several days of tweaking the chart or changing colors before I finally begin stitching. I stitch all of the models that you see pictured in the shop. Not that I'm particularly fast, I'm not a speedy model stitcher- they amaze me with their neatness and quickness- but I stitch two handed, so that speeds me up a bit. My stitching spot is in my living room, and half of my time is spent trying to convince my Ragdoll cat not to sleep on my chair when I need to stitch. After stitching comes fully finishing. That's done at home too, generally by my Mother and I watching Vonna Pfeiffer aka the Twisted Stitcher's amazing finishing tutorials, if it's ffo'd as a flat fold. After that, comes the pictures, in my photography studio. Sounds fancy right? It's my dining room, which has excellent lighting. After that the listing gets posted to the shop.
And that's the end of the tour! Come back soon, and happy stitching!
