Vintage loving, midwestern farm family. Working to find items that add history and joy to your life.
Sycamore lane is a special place. The original late 1800's farmhouse was purchased on contract by my young and recently married parents. Dad worked in the construction field and mom stayed home with my sister and myself. Pennies were pinched, old was repaired, and through sacrifice, love and hard work the original worn and tired farmhouse was given new life. Mom and dad loved their family, growing their gardens, and the beauty of finding a new use for an old thing. It was a magical place to grow up. Fast forward 50 years...our family has gained loved ones and lost them. But Sycamore Lane is still the homestead. Grandchildren inhabit the original farmhouse. My mother and I, with the help of the rest of the family, work together to continue the traditions of gardening and all things vintage.
Recently I retired from my nursing career to help care for my grandchildren and spend more time with my mom. From this life change, Figs of Sycamore Lane Vintage was born. And although I don't yet have a knack for social media and online sales, we do have a knack for finding unique vintage items. I am especially drawn to those that represent farm and rural life. Although small family farms are much less common than they were in the past, most of us were touched by the farm family heritage in one way or another. My hope is to help connect others to their best memories and their most magical dreams that come from a day on the farm.
While we are out finding all things rural and farm vintage, we also come across lots of other vintage that are just too perfect to pass up. These items may connect you to childhood memories or be the perfect gift for a loved one. Sometimes it is simply the beauty of a treasure from the past that draws us. We imagine it finding just the perfect spot in your home.
Our sincerest hope is to bring joy to you, your home, and those that you love. I will never pass up the opportunity to share any known history of an item that you purchase, and it gives me great joy to hear about the future plans that you have as your treasure travels to its new home!
Thank you for stopping by!! The Etsy Store is growing day by day. I promise, there are thousands of treasures still waiting to be shared. Stay tuned!!!
Cheerfully,
Kathy
