Best way to light is over the stove or candle, light it up allowing it to ignite fully, once flame has naturally dissipated blow a few times firmly into the top of the stick to blow the heat through, pinch around a few times just under where it was lit, to loosen up the herbs.
Re-light the tip well once again, repeat the same process again. Use a heat prof dish to catch any ash.
Always opening windows and doors while Smudging is important.
Extra tips to help move shift and clear energy: play peaceful high vibration tunes, light some candles, use your positive intentions any prayers or invocations, smudging under the bed in corners and around window sills.
Using a singing bowl after smudging is a wonderful way to further clear the space.
