His Little Ladybug's Story
Growing up, my mom and I made every craft imaginable. One of our favorites was making high quality beaded rosaries. At the end of every school year, we made ladybug rosaries with the legend of the ladybug for my teachers. Now, I am a candidate for consecrated virginity lived in the world in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, and will marry Jesus in January 2025. I am opening an Etsy shop to sell the rosaries that I love to make. The profit from this shop will support my vocation as a consecrated virgin, including Encounter School of Ministry, spiritual director training, my annual retreat, and helping start a non-profit dedicated to inner healing and spiritual direction.
There is a lot of symbolism behind this shop's name: His Little Ladybug. One of my mom's favorite nicknames for me is ladybug (I call her mamabug). Additionally, the legend of the ladybug inspired our favorite rosary to make: a ladybug rosary. It is subtly Marian, and a shop that sells rosaries needs to have Our Lady in the name! The shop is "His" because I will marry Jesus and be His little ladybug. "Little" is a reference to St. Therese of Lisieux, the patronness of my interior life. I strive to live her Little Way by remaining little and childlike, depending on the Lord, my (future) Spouse, for everything.
