Hi there! At Hoop and Thread, we specialise in modern embroidery and punch needle digital patterns made by Australian-based needlework enthusiast Nat (that’s me!).
What began as a personal refuge during lunch breaks amidst long night shifts has blossomed into a creative side-hobby. While it might have been associated with grandmas in the past, needlework is a versatile and enjoyable form of creative expression. My journey commenced with the purchase of traditional embroidery kits. However, I soon found myself disenchanted with the surplus materials left after completing each project. I craved simplicity and flexibility, wanting to make the most of leftover supplies without constantly buying new kits. And so, Hoop and Thread was born.
Our focus lies in offering modern designs tailored for novice crafters embarking on their embroidery and punch needle journey. Having experienced the challenges of learning a new hobby firsthand, we empathise with fellow enthusiasts. This understanding led us to develop an accompanying e-book for beginners, complimentary with any pattern purchase. The e-book serves as a comprehensive guide covering essential terminology, pattern transferring techniques, and invaluable tips for initiating a new needlework project.
