About How Little Life Finds Was Born (luckily no pain was involved) 🤍
Hey, I'm Colette the founder! ❤️
Aye (means yes in Scottish...and I'm the slightly sleep deprived, coffee fuelled mum behind 'Little Life Finds'. ☕😂
I'm from Bonnie Scotland and mum to my beautiful daughter, Dorothea, who recently turned one year old.
'Little Life Finds' actually was born in a hospital room straight after my daughters arrival. I know right!...having a second baby was surprising to me too! At least this baby didn't hurt coming out you know.. (baby girl worth every once of pain FYI). 😅
The day she was born I was handed a chart for timings of milk feeds and when she would do a poo poo or wee wee. (obviously praying it wasn't stinky or messy).
Now, don't get me wrong the charts were useful however it looked plain and boring to look at and I'm a creative person so had a fun thought.🤔
As someone who has always loved creating things, I couldn't stop thinking:
"Surely this could look cuter?"
So when we got home, while running on approximately 17 minutes of sleep and pure newborn adrenaline, I opened my laptop and designed my own version.
One that actually made me smile when I looked at it.
One that made tracking feeds and nappies feel a little less like paperwork and a little more like celebrating those precious early days so I can keep tucked away in a memory box. Yes I have even kept the snippet of the
umbilical cord that fell off (don't worry it's in a container 🤣
Then something happened...
I realised parenting is basically one long series of charts.
First it's milk feeds.
Then nappies.
Then sleep.
Then milestones.
Then potty training.
Then routines.
Then somehow you're negotiating with a tiny human because their toast broke in half and their life is apparently ruined forever. 🫨
As Dorothea grew, I found myself thinking about all the things I'd need to teach her.
Kindness.
Confidence.
Good habits.
Independence.
How to tidy up after herself (wish me luck). 🤞
How to say please and thank you.
And maybe most importantly...
How not to throw herself dramatically on the supermarket floor because Mum won't buy a £37 unicorn toy. 🦄
Around the same time, I kept hearing:
"Just wait until the terrible twos..."
Which sounded less like a parenting stage and more like a natural disaster take immediate shelter warning. 😂
That's when the idea for Little Life Finds really clicked. 😃
I wanted to create resources that made learning fun.
Products that children would actually enjoy using.
Charts that encouraged good habits.
Milestone trackers that helped families treasure special memories.
Educational posters that looked beautiful in a nursery, playroom or classroom.
And resources that helped make life just a tiny bit easier for parents, teachers, childminders and caregivers everywhere.
Today, every product you see in my shop is inspired by beautiful chaos that comes with helping little people grow.
My mission is simple:
✨ Make learning fun.
✨ Celebrate milestones.
✨ Create happy memories.
✨ Help families stay organised.
✨ Add a little more colour, creativity and joy to childhood.
anyway...
Every order, message, favourite and kind review genuinely makes me do a little happy dance (usually while holding a coffee and chasing a toddler).
I'm so happy you're here.
Love,
Colette ❤️
