People ask me : "Why Moon In June?"

I usually tell them it's "because it sounds nice. I was born in June and I'm a night owl". It's the nutshell version... But I want to try sharing the real meaning behind the name.

Moon In June studio was born from a need for grounding. Working with clay was a way to reconnect to this earth and to my body during a time when reality felt tenuous.

The Moon is a metaphor for the intangible: dreams, emotions, ideas. I use it to explore the richness of my mind & spirit.
June, a month that, in the northern hemisphere, is full of green, thriving life, is a metaphor for the relationship between my body and this earth. I use this metaphor to explore the richness of my five senses & to help keep me connected to my roots.

I work with clay, but I am also constantly working with my psyche. I'm open to letting the work shift and expand as is necessary. It's my mission to keep learning and to share beauty with the world when I can.
