I surprised my Mother, for Sure.
When I moved away from home to College I discovered a new love for sewing my own clothes. This was a monumental development for me, because I had always thought that clothes shopping was the worst thing a person could endure in this world. Now grown up and far away from home I was developing my own sense of style for the first time.
Slowly I learned to alter patterns to suit me better, and eventually started drafting them from scratch using books and instructions on the web to help me along the way.
After a few years I decided to open up Mountain Rose Designs to share those patterns with you. Here you’ll find a few basic pieces (such as the infinity dress) as well as a few more complex items for your wardrobe.
All of my patterns were sketched and drafted by me. I use adobe Illustrator to create the pattern in a digital format so that you can use it as many times as you would like. They are all things that I would wear myself and are inspired by my life as well as items I see in stores or around the web.
It’s been wonderful to express myself this way. Thank you for supporting my shop.
