What are the limits to customizing my order?

Typically, the only customization options available are clear in the listings.

We always welcome this question, but there are limitations to what can be customized and our availability to carry out extensive custom work. Small changes to things like text or altering color schemes shouldn't be a problem, but if you intend to ask for a completely different design to a listed product - we likely won't be able to oblige.

There is a lot of work that goes into creating and designing products, and our listings are meant to be sold to many people across our store platforms. Creating a specific product 'just for you' isn't viable for any business. Again, we welcome the question - but please be aware of these facts before proceeding to ask.

What type of pen should I use on my guest book?

We recommend Sharpie brand markers for use on our stained guest books. They tend to not bleed which keeps your guest's signatures clear and legible.

The most popular colors used by brides are black, gold, and silver.

We do not suggest using paint pens at all. They can be difficult for your guests to use, they are messy, and ultimately they could ruin your guest book.

I entered the wrong address or need to change it, can you help me?

If you need to make ANY changes to the shipping address - you'll need to cancel and re-place your order with us.

It is no doubt annoying, but post-order address changes cannot be requested as it is used as a common credit card scam online. This policy is in place to protect us both. If you change the shipping address on an existing order, the protections offered by Etsy and potentially our shipping partner insurance will be void.

If you need to update your address AFTER we've begun working on your custom order - you will need to submit the new order in full before we can refund your original order. Please ensure you double check your shipping address before placing any order online - it will prevent a lot of headaches.

I see a lot of different types of product - printed vinyl, engraved wooden items, etc. Do you create everything in-house or are you using third party vendors?

Everything we sell is created by us in our home-based shop - we DO NOT use on-demand or third parties for any product we list on Etsy.

We own and use Laser Cutters, CNC Routers, Professional Printers, and various other machines to assist in producing our products. All our machines are owned and operated by Nella or Robb. If you order anything from "Nella's Signs" it was crafted by one of us, here in our Calgary home.

We do not drop ship. We do not out source. We do not have employees. It's just you and us when you place an order - which is exactly how we like it :)

When will my order arrive? Can I have this before 'x' date?

When you view a listing, it is standard on all listings across Etsy to show you the expected arrival date. The arrival date is Etsy's estimate of both processing time and expected shipping duration.

If processing time says 1-2 weeks and shipping says 1-2 weeks - Etsy will tell give you an estimate of 2-4 weeks. You should always account for the longer estimate, meaning 4 weeks to arrive at your shipping address. If you need something to arrive in 2 weeks and the estimate is 2-4 weeks - you can safely assume it will not arrive before then - especially during wedding season or closer to holidays - biggest of them being Christmas.

Are there restrictions to your 'free delivery' items?

Yes, there are restrictions. Due to increasing costs to ship, we reserve the right to cancel orders placed as free shipping. Alaska, the maritime provinces, and any remote location that exceeds 'normal' shipping fees will be cancelled in full as soon as we identify your shipping location as such. If you'd like to proceed with an order, please contact us through the message system on Etsy so that we can create a custom order with your correct shipping charges. It is important you understand this has nothing to do with 'Nella's' and any increased charges are coming from the shipping couriers. We do not profit from shipping charges. It is outside our control.
